The Wildflower Restaurant at the Moorland Garden Hotel near Yelverton has chalked up another accolade, having been recognised with a commendation from the judging panel in this year’s prestigious Devon Tourism Awards.
The hotel was awarded Commended status in the Taste of Devon category, joining the ranks of the top tourism businesses in the county.
“The competition was very fierce this year with a record 130 entries, over 25% up on last year, and we’re thrilled to have achieved Commended status,” says Andrew Jenkins, General Manager of the Moorland Garden Hotel. “It was a rigorous judging process across the business and this accolade reflects incredibly well on the whole team here.”
Owners of the Moorland Garden Hotel, Brian and Sonia Meaden, are also celebrating sister property, The Nobody Inn at Doddiscombsleigh, being named a Finalist in the Tourism Pub of the Year category.
The Moorland Garden Hotel celebrates its eightieth anniversary this year. Bought by the Meadens in 2011, the hotel has undergone an extensive renovation process with the new owners investing heavily in upgrading the property as well as drawing together a first rate team of staff. The Wildflower Restaurant menu is designed to showcase the best of the West Country, with a focus on using seasonal, sustainably sourced ingredients.
